Why Small Group Training Matters
Unlike larger training programs, where delegates often compete for hands-on practice and instructor attention, our academy’s small-group training allows for an immersive learning environment. In our filler training courses, we limit the number of delegates to just 2. For Botulinum Toxin A courses, we maintain class sizes of 2-4 delegates, while masterclasses are also capped at 2 delegates. For thread training, we go one step further, offering a 1-on-1 training format for complete focus on the individual delegate.
Here’s how these intimate class sizes enhance the overall learning experience for our students.
1. Personalized Attention and Feedback
In small-group settings, each delegate has the opportunity to receive personalized feedback directly from our expert trainers. This level of attention ensures that any mistakes are corrected in real-time and that every delegate fully understands the techniques being taught.
For example, during our filler training (with only 2 delegates), each student has the opportunity to practice multiple injections under the watchful guidance of our instructors. This means that no one is left behind, and the course moves at a pace suited to each delegate’s level of expertise. We strive to allow each delegate to inject 2 lips and 2 6 point facial rejuvenation procedures. You also have your follow up sessions which allows you to an opportunity to inject again or just discuss cases. (see more)
2. Hands-On Practice with Direct Supervision
In aesthetic medicine, practical experience is just as important as theoretical knowledge. In large classes, delegates may struggle to get enough hands-on practice, but in our 1-on-1 thread training or small-group Botulinum Toxin A courses, each delegate is assured extensive practice time under direct supervision.
This personalized setup means delegates gain confidence and proficiency in performing aesthetic procedures like Botox injections, dermal fillers, and advanced thread lifts, all while having an expert right beside them, offering guidance at every step.
3. Tailored Learning Experience
Our small-group format allows for a tailored learning experience that adapts to the needs of each individual delegate. Whether someone is struggling with a specific technique or wants to explore an advanced concept, our instructors can adjust the course material and pace to suit the needs of the group.
For instance, in our masterclasses, which are limited to just 2 delegates, the focus can shift to advanced techniques or areas that delegates are particularly interested in mastering, such as tear trough treatments or jawline contouring. This flexibility is something you simply don’t get in larger training groups.
4. Increased Confidence and Mastery
The more hands-on practice a delegate gets, the more confident they become in their abilities. At Dr. Michelle Westcott Aesthetic Academy, we’ve found that smaller class sizes lead to greater confidence in performing aesthetic treatments. With fewer distractions and more opportunities to practice, delegates leave our courses feeling more prepared to perform treatments independently.
For example, in our 1-on-1 thread training, delegates get undivided attention and can refine their skills without any distractions, leading to a deeper understanding and mastery of the technique. This individualized approach ensures that by the end of the session, delegates have developed the proficiency needed to perform thread lifts safely and effectively.
5. Building a Stronger Mentor-Student Relationship
Another significant advantage of small-group training is the ability to build a stronger mentor-student relationship. Our delegates have the opportunity to ask more questions, engage in deeper discussions, and seek advice on areas beyond the curriculum, such as patient consultation techniques or career advice.
In our Botulinum Toxin A courses, which have only 2-4 delegates, this relationship-building is key to creating a supportive and collaborative learning environment. By working closely with our experienced trainers, delegates gain valuable insights that go beyond technical skills, helping them grow into well-rounded aesthetic practitioners. All delegates will inject at least 3-4 cases, this course also allows for the follow up session - an amazing extra time to spend as you need it.
